Louis H. "Jack" Smith, 68, of Woodford, VA. went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2008 at the Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Smith; five daughters: Valerie Gail Armstead of Woodford, Cynthia Smith of Beaverdam, Jane Smith of Ruther Glen, Angela Walker and her husband Linwood of Ruther Glen, and Lalita Goodwyn and her husband Nerry of Glen Allen; one sister, Lucy Saunders of Woodford; a devoted cousin, Roberta Lewis of Woodford; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; stepfather-in-law, Eddie Monroe; three brothers-in-law: Earnest Samuel, Sr. and his wife Celeste of Lakeland, Florida; Sylvester Samuel of Woodford, and Bernard Samuel of Ruther Glen; three sisters-in-law: Patricia Walker and her husband Larnell of Woodford, Connie Gray and her husband Rodney of Woodford and Elsa Monroe of Woodford; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at Noon at Beulah Baptist Church, 5216 Arcadia Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553. A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from Noon to 8 PM at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.
