Lloyd Vincent Ferguson of Caroline County, departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born on February 15, 1959 to the late James and Lucy Ferguson.
Lloyd was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. He was a member of the class of 1977 of Ladysmith High School where he participated in basketball, football, baseball and track.
Lloyd accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Jericho Baptist Church.
Lloyd worked for a number of years at Exposaic Concrete Company. He also drove dump trucks for Raymond Winston, Wesley Toliver and Edwards Hauling.
Lloyd affectionately known to his family and friends as Black Jack was one of a kind. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. You would often see him wearing a cowboy hat and boots. He loved playing baseball and played with the Virginia Royals at Boone's Park Ball Field.
Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren. He had a special bond with his twin sister, Lene. He would often refer to her as "My Twin". He loved writing poems and putting puzzles together. Lloyd loved helping his neighbors and would often check in on them to see if they needed anything. He purchased a John Deer lawn mower and became the neighborhood grass cutter.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Veronica Ferguson and three sisters, Delores Boone, Gloria Armstead and Marilyn Johnson.
He leaves cherished memories to two sons, Lloyd Jackson (Paulette) and Joshua Jackson, one stepson, Jermaine Anderson, four grandchildren, Madelyn, Renee, Ryder and Mason, three brothers, James Ferguson Jr. (Gladys) Reginald Ferguson Sr of Ruther Glen, VA and Morris Ferguson (Sherrill) of Woodford, VA, one sister, Lola Moore (John) of Columbia, SC. Two aunts, Hazel Smith and Marion Williams, a special family friend, Felicia Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Caroline Community Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford , Virginia 22514.
