On April 16, 2022, Linda Lee Watson, 61 of Ruther Glen, Virginia joined her heavenly family and gained her wings. She was born to Houston and Mary Doris Green on June 14, 1960 in Washington, D.C. At an early age Linda was baptized and became a member of the Washington City Church of the Brethren, Washington D.C.
Linda graduated in 1979 from McKinley Tech High School and honorably served our country for twenty years with the United States Navy. She continued her career with the Federal Government as a civil servant and was two months shy of retirement. She was currently a member of St. John Baptist Church, Woodford, Virginia. Linda was married to Michael John Watson, July 10, 1982 sharing over forty years of life and love together.
Linda was the matriarch of the family, the glue that kept everyone together. Her family and friends will remember her as a strong spirit who took pride in her family, home, and work. Her giving and nurturing nature was evidenced by her generosity and her ability to easily convert friends into family. Linda worked hard and enjoyed the fruits of her labor, harder. When she wasn't working or vacationing, she was surrounded by family, grandchildren and godchildren. Now she is at peace with our Lord and Savior guiding, protecting and shining down on us until we meet again.
Linda is survived by her husband, Michael Watson and their two children; Khari Watson (Jennifer) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Tiffanie Watson (Justin Lattimore) of Ruther Glen, Virginia; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Maya, Riley and Reese of Virginia Beach, Virginia; siblings, LaTanya Hudson, Steven Green (Diane), Maurice "Boo Boo" Green (Michelle),Raymond Green (Tammy), Otis Johns (Sherry), Houston Green (Sue), Gary Fletcher (Vanessa); mother- in- law, Jean Johnson; brother- in -law, John Watson (Carla); aunts, Sarah Walker, Katie L. Faison and Rachel Hardy-Epps (Leon), and Betty Green (James); uncle, Alexander Green (Dianne); godchildren, Ay'rica Brown, Eric and Eason Prunity and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends and all of those she loved and touched deeply.
Celebration of of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Third Mt Zion Baptist Church, 9132 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford, Virginia 22580 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 02, 2022 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia 22172 with full military honors.
