Linda  Mae  Christopher Holmes, affectionately known as "Linda Mae" or "Mae Mae" was born July 31, 1929 in Caroline County, Virginia and transitioned to heaven on April, 1, 2021. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Walker and Eliza Christopher; three sisters, Romaine Sellers, Evelyn Abrams and Gracie Washington; niece, Mekco Washington.

Linda graduated from Union High School and was employed  by Humphreys Dry Cleaners, Kellers and Foreign Domestic all located in Bowling Green, Virginia.

Linda was baptized at Saint James Baptist Church and remained an active member until her death. She was a member of the Women's Club and Nurses Unit.

Linda had a passion for sewing and she could make anything. She could take an old pair of pants and turn it into a skirt. She made pew cushions for the church, alterations for the community, clothing for her and her family, plastic furniture covers, car seat covers, choir robes, draperies, curtains and even a snow tractor cover for her brother. She would spend hours in the fabric store with her daughters and mother looking at fabric and patterns and dreaming of what she would make. She was talented and smart and designed and created her own patterns  for everything she made. With her cousin, Pauline Irick Minor she did alterations in a small building located next to C.W. Edwards Funeral Home.

Linda leaves to cherish her memories her daughters; Toi Christopher of Milford, Virginia and Terry Watts (Mark) of Jacksonville, Florida, only granddaughter Tianca Dominque' who was the love of her life and the reason why Linda retired from work so she could take care of her granddaughter. She leaves a brother, Robert Christopher,  and a devoted sister, Ethel Christopher, who lovingly took care of Linda after her illness. Ethel tenderly fed, bathed and clothed Linda, whenever you saw Linda you also saw Ethel, they were two peas in a pod. Left to cherish her memories are her nieces; Twonder Harris (Kenneth), Cathy Washington, Melody Walthour, Pamela Washington; nephews; Orlando Washington (Sharon), Edgar Abrams. Edgar and Orlando were like sons to her whom she loved dearly. Mourning her passing are her great nieces and nephews, church family and friends.

Linda loved the Lord and taught her daughters  and  granddaughter to always put God first and his righteousness and all these things would be added to you and to also honor your mother and father. She would always say, God has a plan for everyone and its according to you on how you use it.

A walk through viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. James Baptist Church parking lot , 19514 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 a mask or face covering is required  for viewing and funeral service.
