Lewis Chester Lee, formerly of Caroline County, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Danville Regional Hospital in Danville, Virginia.

Lewis was born on June 30, 1938, in Shumansville, Virginia, to the late Chester and Clara Lee. He was the eldest of four children.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Lewis Lee, Jr.; three daughters, Connie Lee, Sonya Green and Nicky Harris; eight grandchildren, one sister, Florence and her husband Raymond Garnett of Shumansville; two brothers, Earl and his wife, Maxine, of Washington, D.C.; Robert and his wife, Joyce, of Milford and one sister-in-law, Laverne Lee of Bowling Green and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, June l, 2009 from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home and one hour before service at the church on Tuesday.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Shumansville, Virginia, with the Rev. Michael P. Parker delivering the eulogy. Burial follow in the church cemetery.
