Obituary for Lester Marshall Johnson
September 11, 1944 – June 21, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lester Marshall Johnson, who peacefully passed away at his home on June 21, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Lester was 80 years old.

Lester was born on September 11, 1944, to the late Pauline and Buster Johnson.

Lester was a man of remarkable character. He was a giving, fun, and loving individual who had more lives than a cat and cherished every moment of them. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his warm heart and vibrant spirit. Lester will be deeply missed.  To know him is to love him and his funny crazy ways. He loved to prank people and just make people laugh and who would give you the shirt off his back and could work on anything and everything you brought him.

Lester, Matt and Wayne will be missed at the Long Branch.

Lester was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann (Bug), his daughter Cookie (Robert), and his grandson Ashton.

Lester leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his children:
Lester Jr. (Yogi), Charles Earl (Bo Diddly) (April), Leroy/Baldy (Sandra), and his daughter Gail (Papoose). He was also deeply loved by his grandchildren Shana (Eat'um Ups), Jamie (Chocolate), Victoria (Sowee), Raven (Jelly), and Leslie (Ms. Beasley) was his riding partner and kept him straight. His great-grandchildren Daniel (Swirley), Hunter (Pony Boy), Leah (Buckwheat), Loren (Bean), Lore (Dew Drop) and Brayden (Charlie Brown).

Lester is also survived by his siblings: Sister Delores (Muffin), Custalow (Bernard), and Brother Philip Rollins "Foot" (Leslie).

He also leaves behind a special host of friends, who were like family to him, including:
Andrea Crump "Arnie", The Bundy's, Byrd's, Tignor (Sharon/Sam), Glenda (Buzzie), Francis and Cheryl (Booey), Pumpkin, Kevin McReynolds, Bill Dustin, and Keith Fortune.

Rest in peace, Lester. You will always be remembered and forever loved. - - - The Family
