Leroy Banks, 73, of Bowling Green, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Parham Camput, Richmond, Virginia.

Leroy was born on September 25, 1939. in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, to Freddie Bank and Mazie Brooks.

On March 21, 1959, he married Lillie Mae Hopkins and to this union four girls and three boys were born. Leroy built a home on Cedon Road and began to raise his family. He loved his wife and children and would do anything he could for them.

Leroy was employed by several companies in his life. He worked for Wayne Allen at the saw mill, Expose', a heavy machinery company, Caroline Pines in the maintenance department. Leroy then went out on his own, starting his own business, "The Handyman." He had business cards made and would do odd jobs for people around Caroline, Spotsylvania and Orange Counties.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Lillie Mae Banks of Ladysmith, four daughters, Olivia Jones (Pete), Joyce M. Banks of Ladysmith, Carolyn D. Banks of Charlottesville, Barbara M. Johnson (Sidney) of Ladysmith; three sons, Lenroy (Carolyn) of Thornburg, Harry Banks of Ladysmith and Lloyd Wendell Banks of Caroline County; grandchildren, Peggy Brown Clarke, Kenneth Brown, Charmin Brown, Petrise Brown, Chennika Brown, Chonelle Brown, Rev. Dr. George C. Banks, Latonia Brown, Lenroy Banks, Jr., Wendell L. Banks, Reggie O. Brown, Curtis Brown, Lloyd W. Tompkins, Teonshay Tompkins, Devontae D. Tompkins, Devany B. Tompkins; one brother, Milton Banks of Cedon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. and the funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Va. 22427. Burial will be private
