Obituary

Leonza Baker Jackson, Jr., the first born of Leonza Baker Jackson, Sr. and Deaconess Katherine Chew Jackson, departed this earthly life on Friday, July 17, 2015, at his home in Caroline County, Virginia.

Brother Leonza, fondly known as "Junior" was born on September 1, 1955. At an early age, he joined the First Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia, where his membership remained until his passing. Brother Jackson was an active church member serving as a member of the Senior Choir, Praise Choir, Men's Club and Senior Usher Board. He was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. Brother Jackson served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was employed as a tractor trailer driver for the Mitchell Company until his health began to fail.

Brother Jackson was a loving father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Leonza B. Jackson, III (LaToya Coleman); five brothers, Rodney (Faith), Robert Keith (Yvonne), Curtis (Lisa), Anthony (Benata) and Kevin (Courtney); two sisters, Andria Kenney and LaTashia Jackson; four uncles, Rev. Louis T. W. Jackson (Elizabeth), Deacon Jesse Jackson, Webster Jackson (Karen), Ryland Jackson (Anne); five aunts Eleanor Foster, Patricia Chew, Dorothy Jackson, Joyce Watson and Flornetta Johnson; five grandchildren, Tiara Jackson, Lorenzo Vaughn, Antonio Vaughn, Malik Jackson and D'Andre Jackson; one play brother, Ricky Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends

A viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427, and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.

A celebration of life will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 24, at First Baptist Church, 9262 Guinea Station Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580. Interment will follow at noon at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle.
