Larney Shepherd, Sr. 88, son of the late Walter and Rosa Lee  Shepherd was born on June 15, 1930 entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Bowling Green Health & Rehab Center. Larney accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta, VA.

He was educated in the public schools of Caroline County. Larney was joined in holy matrimony to Vernice Louise Baylor.

He was employed by Foreign and Domestic Wood until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served until 1953.

Larney was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Vernice Louise Shepherd, 3 siblings, Henry Shepherd, Floyd Shepherd and Lizzie Emma Baylor, one son Larney Shepherd Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter Vanessa Baylor of Woodford, Virginia,  two sons Alvin Shepherd and Shawn Shepherd (Darlene) of Bowling Green, Virginia, one daughter in law, Corliss Shepherd, six grandchildren, Jermaine, India, Larney III (Kristen), Emyli, Alexis and Travon, one brother-in-law, Ancil Baylor of Bowling Green, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at C.W. Edwards  Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday October 29, 2018  at  C.W. Edwards Funeral Home 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Lawn Cemetery Woodford Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580 with Military Honors.
