Obituary

Kenneth Xavier Silver was known to most of us as Kenny, Ken and Silver, but was fondly called Bee Bee or Bee by his family. Bee Bee was pinned by his brother, who as a toddler, was unable to say "Baby".  Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Kenny was the second of four children born to L. Alpheus Silver and Margaret (Doswell) Silver.  Those who knew Kenny well, knew he was a man who stood his ground for what was right, but also knew to admit if he was wrong.  He was a protector and was most direct in speech or expression when drawing his line in the sand!  Kenny was baptized and joined Jerusalem Baptist Church and was active in the Men's Choir.  Although incapacitated, he still requested and received spiritual blessings and Holy Communion.  He loved his old school Motown/R&B classics and was a dedicated follower of The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, Nancy Wilson and Kenny Rogers.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents L. Alpheus Silver, Margaret (Doswell) Silver and son, Garrett Leon Silver. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Shelly; his children Kenneth Sterling (Kesha); Gregory Keith; Krystal Marquita; and Gideon Xavier Silver.  He leaves behind his Pop Pop fan club of Camille Nyree; Kayden Regina Karen   and Kenzo Xavier Silver.  He will be truly missed by his devoted siblings, eldest brother Keith Alpheus, and sisters Karen Ann and Michelle Victoria Silver (Steven Spencer).  His nephews/nieces Kevin Silver; Courtni Somerville; Peter Parker, III (Chanice); Stephanie Spencer; Stacey Spencer; Nevaeh Jeter; Larenz "LJ" Jeter.  In addition, he leaves behind his FAVORITE mother-in-law, Ada Mae Barnes (Robert); Aunts, Ida "Aunt Chuck" Silver-Wiggins and Marvis Silver-Storrs (Elijah).  Sisters-in-law, Denada Somerville and Kristy Jeter (Lance).  Numerous loving and dedicated cousins to list, from both his mother's and father's side. Each and every cousin held a very special place in his life and in his heart.  Lastly, missing Kenny, will be all reading this obituary, to include co-workers, friends, neighbors, and those with whom he fellowshipped. A big shout out to his main man, Wendell Jackson (Patricia), with whom Kenny grew up and together they lived their best life.  April, his furry companion, misses him too.
