Kate Louise Hutchinson Samuels, born on March 9, 1932, to the late Ethel Robinson and Sammie Hutchinson, peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on March 27, 2025, at her home. The ninth child in her family, Kate committed her life to faith and joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church at a young age.

Kate attended the Caroline County Public Schools, beginning her education at Shumansville Elementary School and graduating from Union High School in 1950.  She was dedicated to her church and served as an usher for more than 40 years. Kate shared a remarkable life with her beloved husband, Percy Samuels, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Kate was a selfless and compassionate person and was known for her willingness to help anyone in need. Her love for her church was evident in her service as vice president of the missionary ministry and her tireless work with the Baptist General Convention Area-K1, supporting Caroline County churches for many years—a role for which she was honored.

Kate worked in the cafeteria at Union High and Caroline High School for many years and served as cafeteria manager for more than 20 years before retiring. She was known for her exceptional cooking skills which were enjoyed by students, family and friends alike.

Kate leaves cherished memories to devoted nieces and nephews; a devoted friend, Patsey Latney; and many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427
