Written By: LaTonya A. Lee (Sole-Surviving Daughter)
Judith Ann Carter, affectionately known as "Judy" slipped into her final sleep on Wednesday, October 23, 2018. The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, took Judy home to be with Him and her other loved ones. Preceding her in death were her Mother, Mary A. Carter; Grandson, Terrence P. Lee; Aunt, Lottie F. Carter-Johnson; and her Grandparents Carrie & Preston Carter.
Judy entered this world on July 03, 1947. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, to Mary Ann Carter. She was one of two girls. Shortly, after her birth, she went to the country to live with her grandparents and her Aunt Lottie in Shumansville, VA. There she was raised with several other family members. Judy received formal education from Union High School in Caroline County graduating in 1966. Upon graduation she entered holy matrimony with her childhood sweetheart Earl S. Lee and from this union LaTonya A. Lee was born. As a young lady, Judy wanted to see the world. Her initial journey led her to our Nation's Capital, Washington DC, where she stayed and made a home. She worked for the Federal Government 20 years, until retirement.
Judy will be remembered by her family and friends with laughter and a willingness to help others. Her calling in life was listening too and helping people when and where she could. Judy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. A family she never forgot.
