Joqucain MORALES GREENE, 66     November 17, 1957 – July 14, 2024

Joqucain was the 3rd child born to Nellie and Lawrence Greene. He grew up in Washington, DC at the Historic Whitelaw – hotel apartments with his older siblings Shirley, Larry, and his cousin Jacquelin Butler. In 1968, after his brothers, Theodore and Dale were born, the Greene Family moved to Westminster Street NW, just blocks from the Whitelaw.

Joqucain went to DC Public Schools. Joqucain was a mischievous child. He would get into trouble but his dad, as stern as he was, just poured more love into his son. The family would travel to Richmond, Virginia every weekend to see his father's parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He even stayed with his Uncle Wallace and Aunt Margaret for a short time. This allowed him to be around his cousins DuKane, Overton, Jackie, Vanessa, Valerie, and Rodney every day. He especially loved being with his "twin" and favorite cousin Jackie!  When Joqucain would meet people  and tell them his name, most people couldn't pronounce it, so he would write it down phonetically – Walking. They'd be like -- Oh, ok.
I get it now!

Joqucain had various jobs throughout his life -- the latest one was being a Maryland State Poll worker during the 2020 election. He was also a Houseman at the Marriott in Ballston Commons, VA; Supervisor/Counselor at DC Health Care; Salesman/Stock Person, at GAP Clothing, Store No. 1; Used Cars Salesman at J & B Auto; Supervisor, Maintenance Servicer at A-1 Cleaners and Sanitation Worker at the Department of Public Works – Step Program. Sadly, Joqucain had no children of his own, but he was a surrogate father to many children. He poured all his love and support into those children. One little girl stole Joqucain's heart a long time ago and he would come to call LaQuasha Mosely his daughter. Lovingly, her two sons came to know him as Grand Dad.

Joqucain and his companion Adrienne loved to travel the US. Through Adrienne, he would visit Los Angeles, California; New Orleans,   Louisiana; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, Texas; Philadelphia, PA and West Virginia. On those trips he would meet new people, see different cultures, and taste their food. He really enjoyed traveling. They would go to Virginia to see his cousins where Adrienne became part of the family. He also got to meet her extended family on some of those trips. As usual, Joqucain would dazzle whomever he encountered with his outgoing personality; especially when he told his stories and would laugh that infectious laugh. People just loved him. Joqucain was so full of life. Everywhere he went in the DC area he would run into someone he knew. Joqucain would always go visit the parents of his friends and family. He'd just drop by and check on them. Helping them whenever he could. Joqucain was a protector, and he didn't play when it came to his family and very close friends.

Joqucain was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Nellie, sibling's Shirley, Larry, Theodore, Dale & Marcus Kevin. He leaves to cherish his memories two sisters Veronica and Angela. Aunt Margaret (Wallace) Greene, nephews Steven and Marcus, nieces Estarte McKinney (Anthony) and Skylar, great-nieces Charnequa, Charnell, Charnell, great nephew Tatum, great-great nephews/nieces John Jr., Zimere, Charleigh,
and Delonte (aka Handsome Rob) and his loving companion Adrienne Coleman, other relatives and friends.

The Family of Joqucain Morales Greene would like to thank everyone that visited, called, sent a text, prayed, and just supported us during this traumatic time. We humbly thank you all.
