Obituary


John Lewis Robinson, Sr., affectionately known as "John Boy", "John Lewis" or "John John" entered into eternal rest peacefully on June 3, 2020. John was born on November 5, 1933 to the late Ethel Green and Christopher Robinson, Sr. in King William, Virginia. He was preceded in death by siblings; Elmore, Christopher Jr., James Thomas, Edward Kelly and Bessie Mae Robinson.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was an upstanding member of Providence Baptist Church. Over the years he was known for providing rides for family and friends to and from church and home from the 7-11. You could always count on him if you needed a ride. He was a long-time employee at Wright Lumber and Owen Gwathmey. During his later years he resided in Richmond, Virginia under the care of his children. Family always brought him joy and he would visit his home place when his health would allow.
John leaves to cherish his precious memories, one son; John L. Robinson, Jr., two daughters; Mary R. Anderson and Robin Robinson, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, three sisters; Ceola and Nannie B. Robinson, Louise (Charles) Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Providence Baptist Church, 4570 Dorrell Road, Aylett, Virginia 23009.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the church.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Due to the COVID 19  pandemic, a mask or face covering is required upon entering the church.
