John Ferguson, Jr. "Johnny" was born on August 11, 1930 to Ruth Coleman Ferguson and John Ferguson, Sr. in Port Royal, Virginia. From their love union, ten children were born, Johnny being the "sergeant general".

Johnny had little formal education, but that did not stop him from working—anything he could do, he did, anything he could not do, he figured it out and conquered it. Eventually, Johnny moved to Milford, Virginia where he was known as the "lawn mower man". In Milford and the surrounding areas, if you had any kind of lawn equipment that did not work, Johnny fixed it! He also worked for Hoovers Lumber Company in Milford, Virginia for a short time before going to G&G, where he worked until he retired. He enjoyed westerns, wrestling and a good old cup of coffee.

He met the love of his life, Wilma Lee in the late 70s, and they welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Patricia in 1989. Johnny and Patricia were inseparable—he was her king and she, his princess. They were always together riding in that blue Cutlass. Wilma Lee preceded him in death.

In later years, he resided at Bowling Green Health and Rehab where he was resident of the month and with his wit, he kept everyone on their toes. Everyone loved Johnny! He lost this fight on December 31, 2020 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his daughter, Patricia of Henrico, Virginia; one brother, Al Ferguson of Seattle, Washington; one brother-in-law, Scott Woolfolk of Maryland; a devoted nephew, Lloyd Johnson; two devoted nieces, Adreka Johnson and Ruth Johnson; an honorary son, Darius Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home Inc, 16476 Richmond Turnpike Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
