John Dudley Cephas, 78, departed this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at his home in Woodford, Virginia.

He leaves to cherish his memory nine children, Carlyle Cephas of Woodford, Yolanda C. Johnson of Woodford, Christopher Cephas of Upper Marlboro, MD, LaVerne Cephas-Waller of Cheverly, MD, Donna Perkins of Spotsylvania, Katherline Cephas of Partlow, Emily Cephas of Seattle, WA; two step-daughters, Earline Stevenson and Pearline Lassane both of Woodford; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 nieces, 1 nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a memorial service at noon on Saturday, March 21, at the Caroline County Community Services Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 noon at the Community Center.

Interment will be at 10 a.m on Wednesday, March 25, at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia.
