Joan Della Ware Scott was on February, 22, 1945 to the late John Abraham Ware and Ethel Ora Byrd in Caroline County, Virginia. God called our beloved Joan D. Ware Scott home on Friday, March 18, 2022 to receive his reward.

At an early age Joan accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized at St. Stephens Baptist Church, Sparta, Virginia

Joan was educated in the Caroline County Public School System. She went on to work at Keller Aluminum Industries in Milford, Virginia. She remained there until the facility closed many years later. Joan then took on odd and end jobs such as sitting with elderly  family and friends and housekeeping until her health began to decline. She will always be remembered for her saying "Hey Baby". She enjoyed having fun, laughing and spending time with family. She loved everyone, she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Her favorite foods to eat was her brother Clemon's pig feet and "tater salad.'

Joan was a fighter, even after her stroke she never once complained and still continued to smile.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, sister Norma Ware, twin sister, Jennie Lee Ware Johnson Hedgmon; brothers,  John Ware, Jr., (Rag Man) Clemon Roger Ware, MacArthur Otis Ware, daughter Cynthia Diane Ware; grandson Sha'Heem Ware and nephew Jimmie Sayles.

Joan leaves to cherish her memory , daughters; RoseAnn E. Stith-Dandridge and Cynthia E. Ware Cox; brothers, Namon N. Ware (Becky) and Jimmie Ware; grandchildren, Sierra Stith, Teonna Ware, Shadiamond Bundy, Tamaria Ware, Aaron Robinson and Shai Cox; great grandchildren, Brionna Taylor, Scarlett and Honesty ware; devoted nieces, Tammy Johnson, Angie Johnson, Twanna ware, Vicky Ware and Lynn ware Minor; nephews; E. Rick Hedgmon (Pat) and Josh Sayles and a host of other relatives and friends.

A walk through viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 26, 2022 at St. Stephens Baptist Church, 29436 Sparta Road, Milford Virginia 22514, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 a face covering or mask will be required.
