Jessie Alma James, 80, formerly of Shumansville, Va. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Bradford Oaks Center in Clinton, MD.

Alma leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Dianna Marsha Newsome and her husband, Ricky Newcome; two grandchildren, Richard and Monica' Newsome; two great grandchildren, Jayvon and Alaya Newsome; two sisters, Edith Washington and Ann Johnson; one brother, Johnny James and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 26, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, VA 22427 and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Shumansville, Virginia 22550 with Rev. Antonio Clinkscales delivering the eulogy.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
