Jerry Reed Carter was born February 7, 1949, In Shumansville Virginia. He was
one of six children born to the late Thelma Miller and the late Walter Carter.
Jerry went to Virginia public school. He graduated from Roosevelt Senior High
School In Washington DC. Jerry was employed at the Naval Research
Laboratory for some years In Washington DC. Jerry was a loving person. He
enjoyed westerns, music, dancing, bowling and playing cards. His saying Is
"Everything Is going to be okay." Jerry will be remembered by his love for his
family and friends. Jerry Is preceded in death by his mother Thelma Miller and
father Walter Carter, 5 brothers and twin brother Jackie Carter. Jerry leaves to
cherish his memories, his daughter, Sonia Winston and his granddaughter
Dominique, sister Tina Miller, and his aunt Betty Quick, special friend, Kimmie,
and his close cousins, Valerie Webb, and Rita Graham, and (Yolanda and
Raiyena Roy) and many close relatives and friends.

A Family gathering will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 13, 2026, at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
