Jennett Ophelia Gwathmey Branic peacefully passed away on November 10, 2012 at her residence in Aylett, Virginia.
She was born January 22, 1927 to the late Henry Eugene and Nettie Moore Gwathmey.
Jennett received her early education in the public schools of King William County, graduating from King William Training School. In 1944 she enrolled in Virginia State College.
After attending Virginia State College she moved to Washington, DC where she met and married Otto H. Branic.
In 1993 they returned to King William County.
Jennett leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Elizabeth McAllister; sisters-in-law, Burnett Gwathmey, Essie Gwathmey, Laverne Gwathmey, and Frances Gwathmey and a host of devoted nieces, newphews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1995 Globe Road, Aylett, Virginia 23009. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Aylett. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
