James N. Rousey, 65 of Ruther Glen, Virginia  son of the late James and Earline Rousey was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 26, 2019 after a battle with cancer.

James attended Caroline County Schools. He had worked for Chenault Lumber Company until his illness. He loved fishing, cooking, watching football  and  old movies and spending time with his family and friends.

James was preceded  in death by his wife; Phyllis Rousey; daughter Sharon Rousey; sister Josephine Rousey and brother Norris Rousey.

He leaves to cherish  his memory, four sisters; Eliza Rousey (Ollie), Ruby Johnson (devoted), Shirley Banks and Diane Rousey; four brothers Charles, Roscoe, David and Roosevelt Rousey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends among them three devoted friends, Robin Winston, Carolyn Rousey and Ronald Brown.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Eulogy will be delivered by Reverend Christopher Stevens.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Bowling Green, Virginia.
