James Franklin Jones,  affectionately known to many as "Jimmy" was born August 15, 1949 in Ruther Glen, Virginia. He departed his life on October 27, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. James was born to the late Samuel Jones, Sr. and Amanda Jones.

James received his formal education from the Caroline County Public Schools. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at the Mt. Oni Baptist Church.

James was employed by Keller Aluminum Ladder Plant in Milford, Virginia for a number of years. He also worked for Washington Gas Light Company in Springfield, Virginia. He then moved to Washington, D.C. and pursued a career in painting and drywall.

James was a very good card player and loved playing cards with his brothers. He also loved the "Dallas Cowboys Football Team."

James preceded in death by his father Samuel Jones, Sr.; mother, Amanda Jones; brother, Arthur L. Jones, Sr and daughter, Maggie M. Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted friend, Colleen Whitener; two children, Nicole and James (Allison);four grandchildren, Robert Sr., James C. Jr., Craig Jr., and Romeo; three brothers, Samuel Jones (Wanda), Norman Jones (Margaret) and Gerald Jones (Martina); two sisters, Carolyn Minor (Roland) and Gwendolyn Conyard(Will); sister in law, Bessie Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
