James Junius "Sonny" Edler, of Ruther Glen in Caroline County, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

Sonny was born June 30, 1937, to the late James and Virginia Edler in Caroline County, Virginia. He was a truck driver for W. T. Jones & Sons Trucking Company for many years and his CB name was "Show-N-Tell".

Survivors include his wife, Hannah Lee Ware Edler; three daughters, Arminta Fletcher, Teresa Burton and Glenda Smith; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, five sisters, two brothers, four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, three sons-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gladys Kay and one brother, Harry Edler.

Viewing will be held on Monday, September 14, from noon to 8:00 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, at Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, with Rev. Dwayne Fields delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
