Deacon James Bennett Coleman, 84, of Ruther Glen, VA accepted God's hand and eternal rest on October 23, 2024.  He was the son of the late Cosmo Coleman and Laura Ann Samuel.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Jo Ann P. Coleman.

Survivors include his four children; Lydia Randolph (Ernest), Laura Coleman, James B. Coleman, Jr. (Elsie), and Michael Coleman (Darlene); two siblings; Mack Arthur Coleman (Gladys) and Cecilia Ann Smith; two stepchildren; Johnnie Keith and Suzan Parker; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, VA 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Road, Woodford, VA 22580 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
