James William Brewington, Jr., 73, departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Bowling Green Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Bowling Green, Virginia.


"Champ," as he was fondly known, was born to James W. Brewington, Sr. and Eleanor Langley on Feb. 25, 1939, in Greenville, N.C.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Reaver Delores Brewington; four sons, Michael Rene' Brewington, Sr., William Derek Brewington, Sr., James William Brewington, III and Jamie Chancellor Brewington; one daughter, Sharon Michelle Brewington; ll grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a devoted uncle, Johnny Langley; one aunt, three stepchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 12 Noon - 8:00 PM at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at St. John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Road, Woodford, Va., 22580. Rev. Dr. W. G. Berryman, Pastor will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
