Deacon James "Jim" Earl Berry, 90 went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Mary Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

He was a lifelong resident of Bowling Green, Virginia.He was Chairman of the Deacon Board at Second Mount Calvary Baptist Church and founding member and manager of the Saints of God gospel quartet.

He is survived by his daughters; Veronica Henderson, Shelia Thompson, Wanda Berry, and Doretha (Oliver) Owens; sons, Kenneth ( Shirley) Berry and Dwight Berry; a grandson whom he raised, Reginald (Tiffany) Berry, Sr.; a brother-in-law, Charles Gray; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Second Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 17247 New Baltimore Road, Milford, Virginia 22514 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A Homegoing service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the church with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mount Lawn Cemetery, Woodford, Virginia 22580
