Jacqueline Adelle Dawson, affectionately called " Jackie " by family and friends was born on November 26, 1948 to the late Burton Wright and Doris C. Wright Holmes. She was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Retreat Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Jackie joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Chilesburg, Virginia at an early age. She served as usher, missionary and in the hospitality club for many years.
Jackie graduated from Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia in 1968. She was employed at CVS Distribution Center for 19 years.
She was married to the late Willie Marshall Dawson and to this union two daughters were born, Sonia Marie and Melissa Yvette were born. Jackie was a devoted mother and a very special grandmother who loved everybody.
She leaves cherished memories to her two daughters, Sonia Dawson and Melissa Pleasant; four grandsons, Tyler Johnson, Dariaus Pleasant, Darian Pleasant and Austin Dawson; one granddaughter, Asia Dawson; her mother, Doris C. Holmes of King and Queen County, Virginia; two brothers, Walter Wright of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Melvin Wright (Vanessa) of Bowling Green, Virginia; one sister, Hazel Burrell of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one special aunt Isabel Wright; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins two of whom were special, Dollie Steele and Doris Woolfolk; special friends, Shirley Young, Elizabeth Boone, Evelyn Anderson, Tee Johnson, Patricia Jefferson, Milton Johnson, Phyllis Washington, Joyce Hicks and John Hayes and many other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 23 , 2016 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the church.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 18562 County Line Church Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546
Interment will be private.
