On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Iva Sharee Berry entered eternal rest at Saint Mary's Hospital in Henrico, Virginia. The daughter of the late, James Edward and Lillie Mozelle Johnson, was born May 3, 1957, in King and Queen County where she attended the public schools. At an early age, she accepted Christ, was baptized and joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta, Virginia.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Elvin "Roy" Berry, and they were blessed with three beautiful children: Tameaka Donte Berry (Vincent), Alvin Latrell Berry (Desiree) and Shantwan Berry Smith (Anthony). They also raised Lisa Berry Winslow as their daughter.

Iva worked for the King and Queen Public Schools as a bus driver for twenty-three years. Throughout her life, she loved helping others and was known for her love of Pepsi-Cola, picking and cooking turnip greens, and frying chicken for everyone. She never met a stranger and touched the lives of many. She had a special relationship with three young men, Tony Horn, Chris Burton and Warren Brandon and one young lady, Nikkia Johnson, who looked to her for advice and guidance. Iva's commitment to her community and the well-being of others was evident in the life she lived and the lives she touched.

She sang in the church choir at Jerusalem Baptist Church for many years and loved to sing at various engagements. She loved and enjoyed life, family, laughing and entertaining family and friends. She was a loving and generous individual to everyone, and she never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Johnson.

Iva leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband of forty-nine years; three children; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Lewis; two brothers, James Arthur Johnson (Della) and Gregory Johnson (Madelyn); five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of other relatives, family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22546.

Celebration  of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the church with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 a mask or face covering will be required.
