Horace Dennis Robinson, affectionately known as "Rock", transitioned to his heavenly home on January 26, 2026, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  He was the son of the late Robert and Lillian Robinson.  He loved his family, his church, and his community, and it was evident through his actions.  He was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Woodford, VA, and was a faithful member until his health would no longer allow him to attend.

Horace lived life at full throttle; he was a passionate race car driver whose competitive spirit and love of speed inspired all who knew him, especially at Colonial Beach, Summer Duck, and Budds Creek in Maryland. He kept an argument going between his racing mates Clarence Walker and God Son Anthony Walker. He was a "Chevrolet" man for sure and would make fun of people with other car makes. Whether on the track or behind the scenes, his dedication to motorsports was unmatched, and the local racing community respected his presence and input. Before taking the wheel, he was a member of the Star Pick Up Truck Club along with his "home boys." Horace spun records and lit up the night as a talented DJ. His name was always on the ticket as the DJ at the Golden Horseshoe.  His energy filled every room, and his music brought people together, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Horace was more than his achievements on the track and behind the turntables. To his family and friends, he was a source of unwavering support, laughter, and kindness. He approached life with enthusiasm and generosity that was contagious to everyone around him. At an early age, he began working and had a strong work ethic. He would always tell the story that he was responsible for walking to St. John School to light the stove before the class got in for a small fee. For over twenty years, he was employed by Princess Anne Tire Company in Fredericksburg, VA; thereafter, he went to work in Richmond, where he perfected his trade of repairing and installing mufflers. Upon retirement, he pursued and fulfilled one of his passions in starting his own business, Rocks Custom Exhaust and Repair, located at Brown's Gas in Cedon, VA, where he shot the breeze with thousands while repairing and installing their mufflers. Many customers would come by the station to hang out with him.

Horace was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Carter Robinson and Nina Mae Holmes Robinson, the mother of his daughters.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Baby Boy, Robert Jr. (Blossie), William (Jackie Boy), Herman (Sonny Boy), Lucy (Nunnie), Yvonne (Teenie), and Annie (Tootsie).

Horace leaves behind a lifetime of precious memories that will forever be treasured by his loving daughters, Denise Robinson Frye (Aaron), Sharon Robinson Smith, and Sandra Robinson. His love will continue to shine through his grandchildren—Anthony Smith, Andre Smith, Chelsea Robinson, and Alicia Smith—and his nine great-grandchildren. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, who will always remember his warmth and wisdom. His mother-in-law, Lelia Carter; brothers-in-law, Burton Carter, Jr. (Betty Jean) and Aaron Latney; sister-in-law, Sherita Young (Charles), along with countless cousins and dear friends, will hold his memory close and celebrate the kindness he shared. Horace's spirit lives on in every life he touched, the races he ran, and the music he played. His legacy of love, laughter, and inspiration will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Horace. May your engine always roar and your music play on!
