Henry Grant Taylor, along with a twin brother, was born May 10, 1964, to the late Mary Edith Taylor and William Lenard Taylor.  On Saturday, April 9, 2022, he departed this earthly life and ascended into God's awaiting hands.

Henry accepted Christ at an early age and attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Virginia.  He received his education in the Caroline County Public Schools.  Henry was employed at Foreign Domestic Lumber Company for more than twelve years and with Hoover Treated Wood for more than twenty-five years. Henry was a diehard Redskins fan. He also loved playing bid whist.

Henry was preceded in death by two brothers, Percell Myers and Jerry Taylor; a sister, Mary Taylor; a son, Henry Grant Howard; a devoted and loving fiancée, Zes Johnson, the love of his life for more than 25 years; his maternal grandparents, Lucy and Rosie Myers and Merrill Ross; paternal grandparents, Henry Grant and Grandma Pearl Taylor.

Henry leaves cherished memories to one daughter, London Taylor of North Carolina; a devoted twin brother, William Lenard Taylor (Joyce); one sister, Mary Johnson of Milford, Virginia; nieces, Monica Johnson ; Tonesha, Malaysia and Vanesha Foxx; nephews, Lawrence Myers, Dominique, Demarco, and Jerry Foxx; eight stepchildren, LaKisha Freeman (Craig), Keith Freeman (Casandra), John Johnson (Janet) and Lorenzo Freeman, Renee and Casandra Howard, April Owens and Ebony Wilkins; two devoted aunts, Lucille Myers and Margaret Myers (Godmother); three grandchildren, Henry Grant Howard, Jr., Jaquan C.J. Howard and Zasmine Wright; step grandchildren, Tiffany, Alexis, Brandy, Kemani, Tavaris and Karsyn; ten great-great grandchildren; cousins, Luethel, Carolyn, Regina, Franklin and Yvonne, John, Tiffany, Jamekqua and Quanasia; friends, Maurice Bigg, Micheal Russ, Robert Thurston and Berry West; and many other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike , Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the funeral home with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Livestreaming will be available on C.W. Edwards Funeral Home Facebook page.

Interment will follow in St. James Baptist Church Cemetery, 19514 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514.
