On Sunday, June 22, 2014 the hand of the almighty God moved Henry Lee Myers Sr. from this life into eternal rest. Henry was born on July 29, 1936 to the late Jack & Oris Washington Myers in Caroline County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Louise Catlett, Lillie Garnett & Ollie Myers.


Henry grew up and attended public school in Caroline County, Va. where he was trained in the profession of Bricklayer. He worked in this field for over 30 years, retiring to pursue a career with the Caroline County Department of Transportation. He enjoyed his job which required him to drive the handicapped students to and from school, until failing health caused him to retire totally.


He married Geraldine Johnson in 1961, and resided in Bowling Green, Virginia for most of his adult life. Henry also leaves to cherish his memories 5 children Shirley Myers of Accokeek, Md., Henry Lee Myers Jr., Geraldine Latisha Brown, (John), Donzell Myers (Lolita) of Bowling Green, Va., and Oris Myers-Brown of Waldorf, Md. The center of Henry's joy were his grandchildren , Tiffany ,who affectionately called her granddad " Swag", John Brown Jr.(Mita), Denzel, Jonathan, Jirhur and Ronnell. He will also be greatly missed by his last living Aunt Emily M. Eugene of Washington, DC; Godchildren Brandon & Eunicseia Johnson-Byrd, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.


Most of Henry's spare time was spent driving family, and friends to various appointments. Over the years he had become a low keyed person, overcoming serious medical diagnosis, pressing on, usually concerned for others well being more than himself. Henry doted on his Grandchildren, loved playing cards with them, and whipping the pants off the older children and friend at the family fish fries. His past few years have been joyfully spent attending the High school graduations of his grandchildren and joining them at church for a program that they were participating in. Although he was stricken with cancer he was determined it would not get the best of him.

He will be missed. Although saddened, we are filled with gladness at the number of people that he touched.
