Harvey Wilson
Brown, Jr.
Jun 26, 1950 — Apr 3, 2021
Woodford
Harvey Wilson Brown, Jr. , affectionately known as "Chico", entered into eternal life on April 3, 2021. He was the eldest child of the late Harvey Wilson Brown, Sr. and the late Audrey Moore Brown of Woodford, Virginia.
At an early age, Chico professed Christ as his Savior and became a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia. Although not in regular attendance at Beulah Baptist, he was steadfast in his devotion and commitment to Christ. Chico studied and knew the Word.
Chico was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools. He graduated from Union High School in 1968. Immediately following graduation, Chico attended Smith-Deal Massey Business College in Richmond, Virginia, where he met his bride-to-be, Carolyn Rodgers. While attending business college, Chico was drafted into the United States Army and served a tour of duty as a military policeman in Okinawa, Japan.
Upon Chico's return home, he married his wife of now forty-five years in May 1975. They were blessed with two devoted sons: Harvey Wilson Brown III (Très) and Cory Darnell Brown. At this time, Chico became a business owner with his father in Harvey W. Brown and Son Trucking Company, also known as Browns' Trucking Company. To Chico's delight, the late Larry Lee Brown, his loving brother joined the family business. The trucking business was genuinely loved and enjoyed by all of them.
Although Chico and his family took great pride in a strong work ethic, he did enjoy recreational activities. Early on, Chico enjoyed car racing and owned a race car. He also enjoyed fishing trips with his sons and friends. Talking, debating, and solving the world's problems at the service station with friends, family and anybody who stopped in brought enjoyment to Chico in his daily life. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his favorite things to do. Chico's outgoing personality and sense of humor will truly be missed.
In addition to his parents, Harvey and Audrey Brown, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Lee Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Carolyn; sons, Phillip Meekins (Tammy), Harvey W. Brown III "Très" (Danielle), and Cory D. Brown (Melandie); grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Matthew, Manuel, Tavion, Cory, Jr. and Cayden; two sisters, Sharon Brown-Scott and Deborah Smith (Gary); sisters-in-law, Florica Berry and Josephine Dark (Joseph); brothers-in-law, Carson Rodgers and Jerry Rodgers (Rose); two aunts, Lelia Carter and Gloria Chapman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
