Harry Tyrone "Tom" Johnson, Jr. 76 , was born on December 2, 1944 to Harry L. Johnson and Estelle Baylor Johnson. He peacefully transitioned at his home on August 26, 2021. Tom as he was called by everyone, was born and raised in Caroline County, Virginia where he attended school and lived throughout his life. He joined Jericho Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia at an early age and was baptized by Reverend C.C. Dickerson.
Tom worked at Fort A. P. Hill Army Base in Bowling Green, Virginia until he became disabled. He was a lover of old western, junk food, especially sweets. However there was one thing he loved above any kind of food and that was fishing especially with his life long friend Bobby Snipes.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; Harry and Estelle Johnson; daughter, Melissa "Missy" Louise Toliver; two sisters, Gertrude Johnson and Everdene Foxx Wiley.
He leaves to cherish his memory; one daughter, Monica James (Rodney); two sons devoted caregiver, Marvin Toliver and Horace Mines (Priscilla);one bother, Jessie Leon Johnson; five sisters, Essie Belle Thomas, Thelma Teen Thomas, Arlene Virginia Fox, Rose Etta Hale and Estelle Marie Goodall.; eleven grandchildren; devoted niece, Felicia Goodall and a host of other nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
A walk through viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
Due to COVID 19 a mask or face covering will be required.
