Guy A. Roy, 57 of Ruther Glen, Virginia unexpectedly entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Guy was born to the late James A. and Lois M. Roy on June 14, 1960. He was educated in the Caroline County School System. He joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Supply, Virginia at an early age.
Guy worked as a lumber puller for many years at Roper Brothers and Jim Carpenter. He was presently employed with Builders First Source. Guy was a dedicated worker that loved to work. He was a jack of all trades that could do almost any kind of work, just to name a few, plumber, electrician, mechanic and painter. If there was anyone that needed help, Guy was willing to do the job.
Guy's greatest pass time was fishing. Any time Guy need rest he went fishing. If you could not find him, he was fishing. February of this year Guy caught a forty-four pound catfish.
He leaves cherished memories to his wife; Solange Koffi, daughter; Karla Kouame; sisters; Myrtle Sims of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Janice Cook of Bowling Green, Virginia, Tracy Smith (Rory) of Ruther Glen, Virginia, Brenda Moore of Bowling Green, Virginia, Francine Beverly of Ladysmith, Virginia and Kathleen Baker of New Jersey; brother Ferman Roy (Doris); eleven nieces and nephews; sixteen great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew; four aunts, Roberta Cook, JoAnne Lewis (Russell), Pauline Lomax, and Deloris Ellis; one uncle Ernest Ellis and many devoted friends and cousins.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 with family receiving friends from 6: to 8 p.m.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3207 Quarter Hill Road, Supply, Virginia 22436 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
