Gregory Silver, 41 of Caroline County, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at his residence.  Gregory Keith Silver, affectionately known as Greg, El Grego, G-Money and Silver, was born at home in Houston, TX on September 13, 1984, to the late Kenneth Xavier Silver and Shelly Denise (Williams) Silver.

From Greg's first breath of life to his last, his existence started with his mother's loving embrace at birth and ended with that same embrace as he departed his earthly body.

At a young age, Greg was baptized at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Sparta, VA and later, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Supply, VA.  Soon after his high school career ended, he and then-girlfriend, LaTeaka Turner, welcomed a beautiful daughter, Camille, to the world. Parenting as young parents was challenging, but with family support and guidance, they successfully co-parented to raise an intelligent, beautiful young lady.

Just like his dad, Greg loved old school Motown/R&B classics and was a dedicated follower of David Ruffin, The Temptations, Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, and Teena Marie to name a few.  His mom had recently introduced him to The Dramatics, The Whispers and The Dells.  You would always know when he was close by as his loud, old school music preceded his arrival.  Those who knew Greg well, knew him as a skilled artist, who could effortlessly draw incredible comic book graphics and had a natural talent for composition with a monochrome presentation.

Over the years Greg held many titles and positions while trying to find the right niche for his career path.  He was indeed a "Greg of many trades", ultimately, earning his CDL and becoming a master at driving 18-wheelers, working as a Class-A driver for Tyson's Chicken, Advanced Towing, and lastly for SYGMA, where he provided reliable, trustworthy food service deliveries to restaurants around the region.  Greg proudly owned and operated his own transportation company, Revlis South, LLC., that also included vehicle detailing and white-gloved chauffeur services.

For a full pre-military experience, Greg participated in Caroline High School's Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program.  Although his first choice was to join the U.S. Marines after graduation, he made the final decision to join the U.S. Navy.  Through his time serving in the U.S. Navy, with a rating of Retail Services Specialist (RS), active deployment afforded him the opportunity to travel the North Atlantic Ocean, sailing on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. WASP (LHD-1)-Norfolk, a multi-purpose amphibious assault ship whose main role is to land Marines and their equipment in hostile territory, supporting both military campaigns and crisis response.

Greg had childhood memories of school days and lifelong friends who were often caught red-handed in their shenanigans by his dad, who was once the king of school-day shenanigans!  In his adult life he always stayed connected with his friends as though they had never separated into their respective adult lives.  Greg kept a loving connection to help friends who were in need by providing money, transportation, or very often just a visit and conversation.  He loved camping with family; attending family events; participating in vacation bible school; reading; going to yard sales and being a passionate gamer.  He will be missed terribly at family gatherings as he was the life of the party to keep everyone in stitches and had a gift of telling a great story that never disappointed!

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Xavier Silver; brother Garrett Leon Silver; paternal grandparents Capt. L. Alpheus Silver (Ret.) and Margaret (Doswell) Silver; maternal grandfather, Dennis Leon Williams and step grandfather, Robert L. Barnes; uncle, Keith Alpheus Silver, and his best fur friend April Silver.

He leaves to mourn his #1 favorite girl, daughter Camille Nyree Silver; his devoted mother Shelly Denise Silver; maternal grandmother, Ada Mae Barnes; his siblings Kenneth Sterling (Kesha); Krystal Marquita (Timothy Parks); and Gideon Xavier Silver (Ashley).  He leaves behind his fun-uncle fan club to his beloved niece Kayden Regina Karen, sparring partner nephew Kenzo Xavier, and soon-to-arrive nephew Wesley Silver. He will be truly missed by his paternal aunts Karen Ann and Michelle Victoria Silver (Steven Spencer); maternal aunts Denada Lorraine Somerville and Kristy Marie Jeter (Lance).  He adored and treasured his first cousins Kevin Anthony Silver, Sr., Stephanie Victoria and Stacey Ann Spencer; Courtni Mya Somerville, with whom he shared an extraordinary, special bond, and Peter Parker III (Chanice); Nevaeh Krisette and Larenz "LJ" Jeter. In addition, he leaves behind cherished memories to his second cousins Kevin Anthony, Jr., Kayla Ashley, Kyndal Anne and Saniya Kelis Silver; Michael Jarrard Moses and Marcus Quincy Garner.

Greg will be truly missed by his longtime significant other, Andrea Lea Charity, who will forever have fun, fond and loving memories of the love they shared through the years.  He had a great relationship with her children Skyi, Rayn and Jailen Charity-Washington; her parents, Louis and Scarlett Ferrell; and, her siblings Sumer Charity and Louis Ferrell IV, who all loved Greg as a family member.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, VA 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Zion Grove Baptist Church, 9450 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford, VA 22580, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
