Gregory Leroy "Short Dogg". Boone, 51, of Spotsylvania, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Gregory was born July 27, 1962, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to the late Deacon Melvin Boone and Elizabeth Boone.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Adrian J. Boone, granddaughter, Nevaeh; has loving and devoted mother, Elizabeth Boone; sisters, Mary Scott-Rollins (Zell) and Shelia M. Boone (kG) both of Caroline County; two brothers, Welford Boone (Royce) of Caroline County and James L. Minor of Maryland; nieces, Nicole Scott and Sheri Gray; nephews, Darrell, Brian Coleman, Rico, Terrance, Morvin and Antoine; stepson, Antoine Frye; great nieces, Zyon and Kaiden; great nephews, Deion, Kendall and Shawn, Jr.; five aunts, Bertha Smith, Ruth Wright, Annie Mae Wright, Letisha Boone and Daisy Wright; two great aunts, Louise B. Wright and Clara Crutchfield; uncle, Rev. Leroy M. Bray, Jr. four godchildren, B. J. Rogers, Vaughn Rogers, Jennifer and Sherri Berryman; special  cousins, Reed Wright, Wayne Wilson, Cookie Banks and Ray Robinson; his four legged buddy PooPoo and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Friday, March 14, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 18562 Countyline Church Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546.  Rev. Kenneth A. Davis will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
