Gladys Rebecca Jeter affectionately known as "Beck" was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 10, 1946. She was the youngest of 9 children, born to the late William W. Jeter, Sr. and Mary Bernice Beasley Jeter. Suddenly on Sunday, January 3, 2021, her earthly journey was completed and she slipped away at MCV hospital in Richmond, Virginia to answer the call of her heavenly father.

Beck was educated in Caroline County at Union High School, where she graduated in 1965. One of her first jobs was Keller Ladder, where she worked for 30+ years. Beck loved watching her "Washington Football team" play on Sunday's, spending time with her family and having a wonderful time with her great great nephew (King).

At an early age, Beck joined First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Sparta, Virginia and served faithfully until her death. She served on the Inspirational Choir and as a member of the Pastor's Aid committee.

Beck was preceeded in death by her three sisters, Louise Jeter, Daisy Broaddus and Mary Bertha Jeter and four brothers, George, Kirk, Truett and William "Billy" Jeter.

She leaves fond and cherished memories to her devoted daughter Tish Thomas (Vincent) of Ruther Glen, Virginia: a devoted granddaughter Jasmine Jeter of Ruther Glen, Virginia; a devoted brother Arthur Earl Jeter of Sparta, Virginia; a devoted sister Mary "Tiny" McPhail of Sparta, Virginia; one sister-in-law Julia Jeter of Tappahannock, Virginia; devoted nieces Ebony King, Andrea Lee, Geraldine Jeter, Sonya Chatman and Melva Jackson; devoted nephews Ralph Johnson, Jr and Maurice Fortune; great great nephew who she viewed as her grandchild Keith King, Jr who she called "Fat Bootie" and special friend and Road Dog Margie Bundy and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives

A walk through viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 17065 Seals Road, Bowling Green, Virginia for immediate family only. A walk through viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in church cemetery.

Due to COVID 19 a mask or face covering is required.
