Gladys Louise Roach Gray , daughter of the late Beauregard Roach and Thelma Spann. Gladys was born August 8, 1929 in Pennsylvania. She departed this life on Friday, September 16, 2016

Gladys accepted Christ at an early age and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. She faithfully served as Church Treasurer, a choir member and senior missionary ministry.

She graduated from Steelton High School in Steelton, Pennsylvania and was joined in holy matrimony to Franklin Gray, Sr. on July 16, 1949. From this union, four children were born, one daughter Gwendolyn Gray, preceded her in death. In addition to her daughter, she was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine V. Ray and two brothers, James M. Roach and Reverend Clyde W. Roach.

She leaves cherished memories to her children, Sheila Gray of Chesterfield, Virginia, Franklyn Gray, Jr. and Cynthia Gray of Ruther Glen, Virginia; three grandchildren, Laryl Taylor, Bradley Gray and Terrence Gray (Sasha); one great grandchild, Terrence Gray, Jr.; one sister, Joyce Bradshaw; three brothers, John Roach (Ruth), Kenneth Roach (Lois) and Oliver Roach (Gaynell); and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the church.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 18562 County Line Church Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
