Geraldine Novella Johnson, 63, of Caroline County, Virginia, departed this life on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at home with her family.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Elmer Johnson, Sr.; one daughter, Chanie Mayo; two sons, Elmer, Jr. and Edwin; one sister, Martina Jones; two brothers, Joseph Woolfolk and Andrew Woolfolk; one son-in-law, Rick Mayo and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be Friday, January 30, from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. and one hour before service at the church on Saturday.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 12 noon Saturday, January 31, at St. John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580, with Rev. Dr. W. G. Berryman delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
