During the morning hours of Wednesday, July 14, 2021, God called Gabriel Ward Johnson to his eternal rest. Gabriel was born on January 12, 1984, in Washington, D.C . to Mara Lane Johnson.

During his formative years, he attended Lamont Elementary School in New Carrollton, Maryland and graduated from Martin Luther King High School in Bowie, Maryland. Gabriel also attended P. G. Community College in Landover, Maryland.

He was baptized and joined United Baptist Church in New Carrollton, Maryland and attended until he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. He worked at Adams House, Giant Foods, and Dr. Samuel Allyne's office. His work ethic was admirable until his health began to fail.

Gabriel was a very private person, but he was exceedingly kind, loving, and humble. We will greatly miss our son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He will always be in our hearts.

Gabriel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert l. Johnson, Sr. and an uncle, Van E. Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Mara L. Johnson; grandmother, Lois Johnson of Hustle, Virginia; an uncle, Robert I. Johnson, Jr., wife, Jacqueline, children, Brian, and Elizabeth of Modesto, California; five great aunts, Marceline Butler of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Martha Lumpkin of Champlain, Virginia, Cora Byrd, Newtown, Virginia, Gloria Rollins of Tappahannock, Virginia, and Margie Gray of Caret, Virginia; one great-great aunt, Louise Young of Warsaw, Virginia and a host of cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life  Service will be held graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 25, 2021 at St. Stephens Baptist Church, 29436 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514. .

Gabriel Ward Johnson, 37 of Hustle, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Memorial Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held graveside on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at St. Stephens Baptist Church, 29436 Sparta Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
