Frederick French, Sr. was born on March 12, 1928 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Arthur and Annie Lou French. He departed this life on March 21, 2017 at Carriage Rehabilitation Center.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (New Site) and was a member of the Gospel Chorus and also served as a Junior Deacon.

He married Rosa C. Conway on March 22, 1946 and to this union were born: Frederick, Jr. "Cousey", Carolyn, and Rosalin.

Survivors include his children: Frederick "Cousey" French, Jr., Carolyn Richardson (Doug), Rosalin Johnson. and Helen Branch (a niece whom he loved as a daughter; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a Godchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa, as well as his seven brothers: Steve, Arthur, Clarence, Harold, Andres, Chancellor, and George; and his four sisters: Beatrice, Lucy, Annabelle, and Sadie.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Shiloh Baptist Church (New Site), 525 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia with visitation one hour before the service. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Fletchers Chapel Road, King George, VA.
