The Almighty God called Frances Musette Best home early on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at her residence in Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Frances was born May 2, 1943 in Ladysmith, Virginia to the late J. Herbert and Novella Bruce Garner. Frances joined Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age. As a child, she enjoyed singing with the children's choir and as an adult she enjoyed serving with the hospitality committee. Frances graduated from Union High School located in Bowling Green, Virginia in 1961.

Frances married Lenard Best on February 26, 1966 and they were blessed with two children. She was employed by the U. S. Government Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Frances was a family caregiver, a loving sister, and a prepared and very punctual person. She loved to listen to gospel, oldies and goodies and Christmas carols. Bowling, baking, decorating cakes and especially softball were some of her hobbies.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Laurie Richards (Rev. Guy) and Allan "Boo Boo" Best; four siblings, Robert C. Garner (Jean), Gary Leon Garner (Evelyn), Evelyn G. Smith and Minister John C. Garner (Minister Gloria) all of Ruther Glen, Virginia; two grandchildren who she tried to grant their every wish, Shanais K. and Nyasia J. Richards; two brothers-in-law, Sylvanus Best, Jr. (Dollie), Richard Best (Janice) of North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Isler (John) and Shirley Mae Kittrell (La Fayette) of North Carolina and Beulah Best of Massachusetts and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Saturday.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 18562 County Line Church Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546. Interment will follow in the church cemetery,
