Florence Mae Parker, 70, of Woodford, Virginia entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Florence was born May 8, 1945 to the late Warrenton Childs, Sr. and Mary E. Minor Childs. "Flo" as she was known to her family and friends receive her education in Caroline County Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia. She was employed at Mary Washington Hospital as a food server until her retirement. After retiring, she worked for some time at the Holiday Inn Express.
"Flo" leaves cherished memories to one daughter, LaRaven Steffey (Bradlee), two sons, Rodney Childs and James Childs (Susie); two sisters, Myrtle Rock and Violet Daniel; two brothers, Walton Childs (Blanche) and Billy Childs (Barbara), four sisters-in-law; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, newphews, cousins, other relatives and friends. "Flo" was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Parker; two sons, Clyde and John Childs; one sister, Mary Childs Roye; and two brothers, Warrenton, Jr. and Gene Childs.
A viewing will be held Friday. December 4, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Saturday.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Milford, Virginia.
