Mrs. Eva R. Washington, formerly of King William County, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at her residence in Los Angeles, California. Eva was born January 13, 1932, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia to the late Andrew J. Carter and Evelyn C. Rooths. Eva was preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd, John, Edward and Raymond and a grandson, Michael.
Eva was educated in the Caroline County Public School System. She was a member of First Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Sparta, Virginia. Eva joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Aylett, Virginia after moving with her mother and brothers to King William County.
Eva leaves to cherish her memory five children, Chloe, Tyrone (Pamela), Raymond, Oppielee (James) and Trinette. Eighteen grandchildren, Rodney (Brionna), Eva', Jamell, Roane, Jaime, Selena, Varyn, Jada, Jordyn, Josette, Jacara, Brooks, Lauren (JayMar), Justin, Cameron, Harrison, Elijah, and Noah; ten great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Roosevelt Roots and Archie Rooths. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. A devoted friend, Frances Adams.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 2217 Cummins Road, Aylett, Virginia.
Viewing will be one hour before the service at the Church. Interment will be private.
