Eva L. Childs, 66, of Ashland, Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Mrs. Childs was a former resident of Ruther Glen, Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Marilyn Massey of Upper Marlboro, MD.; Sharon James of Richmond, VA.; Tangee Childs and Daphne Childs both of Ashland, VA.; two sons, Dwayne and Terry Childs of Ashland, VA.; four grandchildren, Ashley Samuel, Torri Childs, Derrick Gahagan and christopher Childs; three sisters, Debra Childs, Bonnie Washington, and Sandra Deyo; three brothers, Avery Childs, Tony Childs, Eric Childs; two sons-in-law, Terrence James and John Massey; three aunts, Delois Washington, Clarice Malloy, and Vivian Taylor; one uncle, James Samuel and a host of nieces, newphews, other relatives and friends. Eva was preceded in death by one brother Albert Childs, Jr.

The remains may be viewed Thursday, November 6, from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 7, at the funeral home with Elder Elvis Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodford, Virginia.
