Esther Maude Shepherd, of Bowling Green, Virginia went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the Ashland Nursing & Rehab Center in Ashland, Virginia.

Esther was born on June 8, 1925, to the late Silas and Lovely Ferguson Greene in Caroline County, Virginia.

Esther leaves to cherish her memories, one grandchild, Valerie Day of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Stacey of Baltimore, Maryland; three sisters, Joyce Garland of Coatsville, Pennsylvania, Virgie Anderson and Christine Duncan (Charles); one brother, Edward D. Greene all of Ruther Glen, Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Rose Ferguson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 27, from 12 noon to 8:00 pm. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, at Second Baptist Church, 26725 Ruther Glen Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546, with Rev. Dr. Arthur N. Werts, Pastor delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
