Ernestine Childs, 77, of Woodford, Virginia 22580, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 13, 2026, at her residence.  Ernestine Childs was born on December 10, 1948, to the late Rufus and Mary Childs in Caroline County, Virginia.

Ernestine, affectionately known as Tine, Teeny Weeny, and Teeny Bone by her family and close friends, started her early education at John J. Wright and Walker Grant and later attended Union High School.

Tine was kindhearted and soft spoken.  She loved listening to music and watching TV.  She was very fond of the daytime stories and the old TV sitcoms. Tine was also a wrestling fan! Some of her favorites were Ric Flair, Batista, and John Cena.  Tine loved spending time with family and was always overjoyed to see her nieces and nephews.

Although she faced some challenges, she showed remarkable strength and independence.

Tine joined Beulah Baptist Church at an early age and during that time enjoyed attending Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Mary Childs, special niece Shannel Lee, great- niece, Lynelle Childs, great- nephew, Tyreek Davis, and uncles, Lorenzo and Clarence Jones.

Tine leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Brenda Childs, Fredericksburg, VA; devoted sister and caregiver, Sandra Scott, Woodford, VA; one aunt, Novarna Williams, Woodford, VA; four nieces, Tonya Childs, Linette Davis, Delma Davis, Tracy Childs; two nephews, Rufus Davis and Roscoe Childs and a host of great- nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who love and miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Va., 22427, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
