Obituary

Elvis Randolph Ferguson, also known as "Boe" or "Ferg" to many, was born on September 30, 1957, in the state of Virginia to the late Welford and Elsie Mae Ferguson. He fell asleep in death on May 28, 2026, at his residence in Bowling Green, Virginia, at the age of 68.

Boe was known by many titles: a son, a beloved husband, a father, an uncle, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, and also a great friend to everyone who knew him. He worked in foreign domestics until he started his career with VDOT, where he also served at the Ladysmith and Bowling Green Headquarters as Superintendent. This is where he retired after 40 years of service. Boe loved outdoors . From the early mornings, sitting on the front porch, feeding the birds, watching the squirrels, fishing, working in the yard, to his love of flowers. He loved all animals, but when it came to those cats, he loved to run them away.

He developed a desire to have a strong relationship with his God, Jehovah, and dedicated his life at an early age. Here he became and served as an elder until his departure from this life, loving every congregation, assembly, and convention, he ever attended, as well as the love of every brother and sister in the congregation.

Boe is survived by his loving family, including his wife Virginia, sons Demarcus Ferguson (Ruby) and Marion Ferguson, and daughter Shakeila Ferguson, all from Bowling Green, VA. He cherished his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Lorenzo, sisters Shirley Mae (jerry), Patricia Parker (PeeWee), and June Turner (Jamie), along with  many nieces, nephews and friends. Boe was a kind, peaceful, giving, and generous person. Boe will be deeply missed. His favorite scripture was Proverbs 17:17, A true friend shows love at all times and is a brother who was born for times of distress.
