Elizabeth S. Leftrich was born on April 14, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was raised by her grandmother the late Hattie Ware daughter of the late Nannie and Eugene Lumpkin. After a sudden illness, God in his divine wisdom, called her home to eternal rest on Monday, December 11, 2017.

Elizabeth attended Caroline County Public Schools and continued her education in Baltimore, Maryland, obtaining her license practical nursing degree.

She later married George Leftrich, Sr. in Santa Barbara, California to which one child was born, Susan Leftrich Harvey. After parting ways Elizabeth returned to Virginia where she began working at White Packing Company and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. She was a loyal member of St. Stephens Baptist Church until her health declined.

Elizabeth was truly one of a kind dedicating time to visit with family and always there to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed car rides, dancing, cooking, watching tennis and golf. One of the greatest joys of all was spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, including her two great grandsons in which she called them her beep beeps. We can not forget her straight forward attitude and that one in a million sense of humor that was still with her until her last days.

She was predeceased in death by a sister Marion Starks.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory one daughter; Susan (Peepsie) Harvey; three grandchildren, Daniel ( Butta Row) Leftrich, Brittany (Brit Brit) Harvey and Lisa (Lee Lee)Harvey; two great grandsons, Ziyen and Silas Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a loving caretaker and cousin Marie Lumpkin who cared for her until God called her home.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Stephens Baptist Church 29436 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour before the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
