Edward Lomax Holmes, 50, of Newtown, Va. passed suddenly on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Cleaver and Shirley Bundy Holmes of King and Queen County.

He leaves to cherish fond memories one son, Daniel Leftrich; two stepdaughters, Brittany and Shakeara Steward; eight brothers, Robert, Larry, James, Charles, Otis, Joseph, Cleaver and Steve; two sisters, Cynthia and Tracy; four aunts, five uncles, two special devoted friends, Erva Veney and Joe Holmes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 25, from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., Bowling Green, VA. and one hour before service at the church on Saturday.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, at 11 a.m. at First Mt. Olive Baptist Chuurch, Newtown, VA. Interment will in the church cemetery.
